Conley, who worked as a maintenance supervisor in Ford's Stamping and Assembly Plant in Wayne for 17 years, was killed in a plant accident on Oct. 22, 2007.
"There isn't a day that goes by without something reminding me of him," Conley's wife Susan said. "It's been hard."
Conley said her husband's death has been particularly difficult for the couple's three children.
"It's difficult to lose your father so suddenly like that," she said. "They struggled a bit in school after his death, but they have slowly come back full circle and have begun to move on with their lives. They miss him everyday."
Though Ford hasn't released the official cause of the accident, Conley said she is determined to seek out answers.
"I feel like I need to know what happened," she said. "I get calls and e-mails from union members telling me I don't know the full story.
"I don't think I will ever really know what happened that day."
Since Conley's death, Susan said several friends, family members and neighbors have provided much needed support.
"It took me awhile to swallow my pride and ask for help, but I finally told myself that was something I needed to do," she said.
Between raising three girls, paying the bills and working as a nurse at the University of Michigan, Conley said there is never a dull moment.
"I never thought I would be doing this now," she said.
The golf outing, which is open to the public, is expected to draw several friends and coworkers of the Conley family to Pinckney.
"We can't think of a better way to celebrate Rob's life than to come together to enjoy the game that provided Rob so much joy," Conley said.
Reservations for the golf outing are currently underway. The cost for the event is $80 and includes the golf game, cart rental, lunch and prizes. Lunch will be provided by Zukey Lake Tavern. Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and other competitions. The game will start with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
