The senior also led the way in league recognition, as Galaska was named to the All-Cascades Conference Baseball First-Team.
He was one of seven Flying Dutchmen to receive all-league honors. Justin Welton, Alex Kastanis, Will Rickert, Steve Mulcare, Brandon Hone and Lucas Sweet were All-Cascades honorable mention.
Galaska was the offensive leader for the Dutchmen. During the regular season, he finished with a team-high .422 batting average and 35 hits. Galaska also led the Dutchmen in RBIs with 19 and hit three home runs.
Galaska was part of Manchester's deep pitching rotation, which featured six pitchers. When he wasn't the starting pitcher, Galaska took the role of closer. He posted a 2-4 record, but recorded two saves and led the team with 61 strikeouts. Galaska finished the season with a 1.68 earned run average.
In the Division 3 district semifinals, Galaska struck out the final two batters in the top of the seventh inning, earning the win in relief of the Dutchmen's 9-8 victory over the Whitmore Lake Trojans.
Welton was another offensive threat for the Dutchmen. The junior finished second on the team with a .329 batting average and drove in 18 runs. Kastanis led the team with 19 runs scored and tied Galaska for the team-lead in RBIs (19). On the mound, Kastanis went 1-3 with a 4.78 ERA.
Sophomore Will Rickert posted the best record of the Manchester pitchers, going 3-1. He was second on the team with 47 strikeouts and recorded a 2.75 ERA. Offensively, Rickert hit .286 on the season. Senior Steve Mulcare tied Welton for second place on the team with 18 RBIs, while classmate Brandon Hone hit .308 for the season.
Sweet developed into another pitching option for the Dutchmen. The junior went 2-4 during the season with a 4.81 ERA.
Galaska, Kastanis, Welton and Mulcare were also named to the All-District team following the Division 3 district tournament at Clinton High School earlier this month.
Manchester finished fifth in the Cascades Conference this season, going 11-15 overall, and 6-8 in the league. After defeating Whitmore Lake in the district semifinals, the Dutchmen fell to conference rival Grass Lake in the finals. After winning the Division 3 district title three straight years from 2003-05, Manchester was eliminated in the district finals for the second consecutive season.
