The Manchester boys' team lapped the field, winning the outright title with 140 points. The girls' team earned a share of the league championship with the host Trojans by placing second with 96 points. The Flying Dutch went undefeated during the conference's regular season, while East Jackson won the girls' portion of the Cascades meet with 114 points.
The boys' competition saw the Flying Dutchmen finish well ahead of second place Grass Lake, which scored 77 points.
Just one year removed from winning one league meet, the Dutch girls put a satisfying cap on a remarkable season by sharing the league title.
"It's really hard to be second place, but from where they started I'm very happy," Manchester coach Mike Forner said.
Elizabeth Timoszyk won two individual events for Manchester. The freshman won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:41.03 and captured the 3,200 run in 12:31.73. Timoszyk also teamed with Amanda Mutchler, Kate Brown and Katie McDowell to win the 3,200 relay in 10:27.9.
Tarah Bondy and Presly Hone finished 1-2 in the pole vault. Bondy won the event with an 8-0.01 jump, while Hone was second at 8-feet flat. Laura Coltre took first in the long jump at 15-4 and placed fourth in the 200 dash with a time of 28.52 seconds.
Kyla Wilberding placed third in the shot put for the Dutch with a throw of 32-10, while Katie Sheler finished third in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.95. Manchester's 1,600 relay team of Mutchler, Hone, Brooke Fuller and Tracy Schaible placed fourth with a time of 4:24.77.
The Manchester boys took first place in seven events. Zach Greca won two individual events, taking the 100 dash in 11.65 seconds and the 200 dash with a time of 22.92 seconds. Greca, Jake LaCross, Andrew Tindall and Greg Schaible convincingly won the 1,600 relay in 3:34.5, finishing nearly three seconds ahead of second-place Hanover-Horton.
"We have confidence just because we know what we can do," Greca said. "We know what we've been through."
Schaible won the 400 dash at 51.8 seconds and placed second behind Greca in the 200 dash at 23.49 seconds. James Hughes won the 3,200 run for Manchester with a time of 10:01.81 and placed second in the 1,600 run with 4:42.48. Hughes, Tindall, Carl Wharam and William Heslip teamed to place third in the 3,200 relay in 8:42.92, while Tom Crawford finished third in the 200 dash at 23.81 seconds. LaCross finished the 400 dash in 53.34 seconds, placing fourth for the Dutchmen.
Brian Flahie won the shot put with a toss of 49-11, while Nick Ross was third (45-7) and Derick VonBroda took fourth (45-5). Jarod Sawyer won the high jump at 6-2.01 and Sam Brown placed fourth in the event at 5-10. Jesse Forner finished second in the pole vault with a jump of 11-6 for Manchester.
Both teams are sending athletes to Saturday's Division 3 state meet at Comstock Park. Greca will compete in the 100, 200 and 400 dashes and team with Tindall, Schaible and LaCross in the 1,600 relay. Schaible will run the 200 and 400 dashes, while Hughes will compete in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. Sawyer will represent Manchester in the high jump and Forner will compete in the pole vault event.
Coltre is the girls' lone state qualifier and will compete in the long jump.
