According to American Legion member Jay Clouse, Manchester's parade activities are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on the Main Street bridge.
"Cmdr. Frank Pohs will officiate the bridge ceremony," he said. "Hopefully, there will be a military fly over as well. We're not sure yet if that will happen."
Following the bridge ceremony, the parade will be under way. The Manchester High School Marching Band, Legion members, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Mounted Unit, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies will lead the remembrance march westward through downtown.
Its first stop will be at Wurster Park, where the Legion will hold the second memorial ceremony of the day. VFW member Charlie Schiel will be speaking at Wurster, followed by a flag raising ceremony.
From there, the parade continues west down Main Street and Austin Road, ending at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Clouse said immediately following the parade, the American Legion Hall, located at the corner of Duncan and Adrian streets, will host a complimentary dinner for all area veterans and their families. The Legion and Auxiliary as well as the VFW will be providing the meat and table service, but asks all those who attend to bring a dish to pass.
"The turnout every year is really good," he said. "I expect it to be the same this year as well."
