Mr. Johnson married Janice Patton Oct. 6, 1956, in Napoleon, and she survives.
Besides his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by his children, Brent Johnson, Ryan (Debra Owen) Johnson, Ann (Steven) Popkey, Kim (Larry) Byrne and Rhonda Johnson; grandchildren, Jessica, Angela and Ashley Johnson, and their mother, Judy Johnson, as well as Austin Scott, Amanda (Craig) Taylor, and Wade and Seth Goodell; one great-grandson, Cash James Taylor; and special, sixth child, Henry DeSautel.
Mr. Johnson was a farmer and also worked for Chrysler Proving Grounds until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and the Kaiser Frazer Owner's Club. He enjoyed classic cars and rusty old tractors.
A healing farewell service was held Monday at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Jenter Chapel, in Manchester. The Rev. Bob McGrath officiated.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
