Manchester track teams still perfect in league duals
Flying Dutch sink Pirates, have shot at Cascades titles

Home was twice as nice for the Manchester varsity track teams.

In its second home meet of the season, the Manchester boys' team dominated the Pirates for an 86-50 victory, while the girls' team scored a 73-64 victory over Napoleon in a Cascades Conference dual April 24.
The boys won 11 of the 17 events in the meet and the girls' won eight events. Both teams moved to 5-0 in the Cascade Conference.
James Hughes won two individual events to lead the Manchester boys. He took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.15 and won the 1,600 run in 4:47.71. William Heslip won the 200 dash (24.62) and Carl Wharam captured the 3,200 run (10:47.86). Jake LaCross took first in the 400 dash (53.78) for the Flying Dutchmen.
Nick Ross took first in the shot put for Manchester with a throw of 40-7. George Kelly's 10-0 jump in the pole vault gave the Dutchmen another individual first place.
Manchester swept all four relay races. The team of Jesse Forner, Philip Voegeding, Brandon Dunny and Kelly won the 400-meter relay with a time of 50.04, then Hughes, Wharam, Nate Hyde and Adam Colvia teamed to win the 3,200 relay in 9:04.96.
LaCross, Greg Schaible, Brian Fargher and Sam Brown won the 800 relay (1:36.30) for Manchester. Andrew Tindall teamed with LaCross, Schaible and Fargher to win the 1,600 relay in 3:38.99.
Laura Coltre and Elizabeth Timoszyk each won two individual events to lead the Manchester girls' team, which finished 1-6 in the conference last season. Coltre won the long jump (15-7 1/2) and the 100-meter dash (13.47), while Timoszyk captured the 1,600 run in 5:50.5 and the 3,200 run with a time of 13:09.32.
Katie Sheler took first in the 100 dash at 13.47 seconds and Presly Hone won the pole vault with a jump of 7-6.
The Dutch won two relay races. Amanda Mutchler, Brook Fuller, Katie McDowell and Timoszyk won the 3,200 relay in 10:59.34, while Coltre, Sheler, Fuller and Tracey Schaible captured the 800 relay with a time of 1:55.03.
Manchester wil run in the Stockbridge meet on Friday.
