Merkels mark 60 years

Ann and Martin Merkel of Chelsea have celebrated their 50th anniversary. They were married March 2, 1957.

They have one daughter, Angie Merkel (Bob Egan) of Ann Arbor, and one son, David Merkel of Dexter, as well as two grandchildren, Eva and Max Egan.
They owned an oil exploration company and land development business.
The Merkels enjoy spending time with their family in their home, while vacationing and while at their lake house in Northern Michigan.
Martin is an accomplished big-game hunter, achieving the prestigious "Grand Slam" of North American Big Horn Sheep. Ann has traveled extensively, as well, and continues to participate in numerous charitable activities.
They are both very conscious of wildlife and environmental causes and take pride in preserving the land. They are planning a family trip later in the year.
