MARY DIVER (SWANK)

Mary Diver (Swank), 93, of Manchester, died April 6, 2008. She was born on July 21, 1914 in Manchester the daughter of Ambrose and Rose (Scully) Kirk.
Mrs. Diver married George Swank on Nov. 24, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1957. She then married Minard Diver on Nov. 7, 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Ronald Swank; brothers William Kirk and Edward Kirk; and sisters Margaret Dietle and Zita Bersuder.
Mrs. Diver was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Alter Society at St. Mary's, the Manchester Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters: Jacqueline (William) Thompson of Cheboygan, Ill.; Jeannine (Jim) Uphouse of Manchester; and Kathleen (Jack) Gould of Manchester; seven grandchildren: Jeffrey (Deanna) Thompson, Jennifer (Darrin) Madeley, Bradley (Amy) Uphouse, Jon (Rochelle) Uphouse, Michelle (Ed) Sidor, J.D. (Andrea) Gould and Sarah Gould; five great-grandchildren: Jenna and Tyler Madeley, Lauren and Liam Thompson and Magdalyn Uphouse.
A healing farewell service for Mrs. Diver took place on April 9 at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Jenter Chapel in Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Timothy D. Krzyzaniak officiating. Burial took place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Manchester High School Alumni Association where she graduated from and also later worked. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
