JAMES PATRICK WELLER
Ypsilanti
James Patrick Weller, 61, of Ypsilanti, died March 23, 2008 in his home after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on June 25, 1946 in Highland Park, the son of Carl and Mickey (Hendrix) Weller of Saline.
Mr. Weller was a graduate of Ypsilanti High School Class of 1965 and later received an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Washtenaw Community College. He was an accountant in the hospitality industry. During his career, he was the business manager for Barton Hills Country Club for 11 years and also worked for Lake Shore Athletic Club in Chicago, Ill., where he received the Midwest "Accountant of the Year" award in 1987.
After returning to Ann Arbor, he worked for his family's business, Weller's, in Saline and retired from Ann Arbor Country Club in 2004. Mr. Weller was an enthusiastic gardener and camper, had a passion for cooking and dancing and wholeheartedly loved being outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Ethan.
He was a member of the Ann Arbor Ski Club for 25 years, where he met his wife. Mr. Weller married Theresa "Teri" (Baran) in Ypsilanti on May 21, 2006. He is survived by his wife, parents Carl and Mickey Weller of Saline, sister Wendy Weller and adopted daughter Andreea Saitis of Saline, son Jeffery J. Weller, daughter-in-law Tina Weller and grandson Ethan Weller of Plymouth; aunts and uncles: Richard and Alice Weller of St. Clair Shores and Jack and Mary Hendrix of Northville; cousins Rick and Pat Hendrix and Ralph and Debbie Hendrix all of Northville, and Mike Deguire of Pleasant Ridge.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 5 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Weller's Carriage House located at 555 W. Michigan Ave in Saline, with a light luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Arbor Hospice & Home Care or Great Sauk Trail Council Boy Scouts of America. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service. Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline is in charge of arrangements.
JUANITA M. EVILSIZER
Manchester
Juanita M. Evilsizer, 82, of Manchester, died March 27, 2008 at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh. She was born on May 28, 1925 in Bridgewater Township, the daughter of Irving and Glades (Ferguson) Coy.
Mrs. Evilsizer married Raymond Evilsizer on July 19, 1947 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Evilsizer was employed with Ford Motor Company for 31 years until her retirement in 1978. She is survived by her children: Ron (Martha) Evilsizer and Eileen (Joe) Maisano; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Mildred, Betty and Evelyn.
Memorial donations may be given to the Huron Valley Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Jenter Chapel where family received friends on March 29. A healing farewell service was held on March 31 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry A. Wik officiating. Interment was held at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.

MARGARET EMMA KAPPLER HIGGINS
Tecumseh
Margaret Emma Kappler Higgins, 96, of Tecumseh, died March 26 at Herrick Manor in Tecumseh. Mrs. Higgins was born on December 19, 1911 to Reuben and Emma Kappler of Sharon Township. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1930 and then from W. A. Foote Hospital School of Nursing in 1934, she married Howard F. Higgins, also of Manchester, on October 29, 1934. Mrs. Higgins became the first night nurse at Herrick Memorial Hospital in Tecumseh in 1939.
For many years she was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester and more recently a member of Britton Congregational Christian Church in Britton. She was past matron and life member of the Order of Eastern Star #101 in Manchester.
Mrs. Higgins is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Gustav) Kuether of Belleville, Ill.; son Hugh H, Higgins of Bolder, Colo.; three grandchildren: Scott (Sandy)Kuether, Lynda Kuether, Lori (John) Schultz; five great-grandchildren: Brittany and Emily Kuether and Matthew, William and Amanda Schultz; three nieces: Barbara Jo (John) Beck, Kay (Art) Herrst and Sally (Frank) Doub; two nephews: Roger (Dulce) Kappler and Doug Higgins; a sister in law, Helen Kappler; and hervery good friends, Jack Tonneberger and Ralph McClain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,Howard, on July 6, 1991, as well as six brothers: Walter, Lawrence, Paul, Alvin, Homer and Robert; two sisters: Ruth Lauer and Edna Zoris; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norman and Bernice Higgins and a nephew, James Kappler.
The family wishes, onMrs. Higgins' behalf, to thank Mrs. Barbara Osga, Dr. Stephen Bachmeyer and the staffs of Charlotte Stephenson Manor and Herrick Manor for their kind andgracious care during her days of confinement.
Funeral services for Mrs. Higgins were held March 29 at the Britton Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. David Welcome and Rev. Gustav Kuether officiating. Interment followed at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.
