Wrestlers take first place

The Manchester Wrestling Club had nine wrestlers placed first in the Jackson Northwest tournament last Saturday.

Earning first place for Manchester were Josh Bunn, Eric Coval, Austin Deacons, Tyler Grigonis, Nicholas Jackson, Mike Lobbestael, Austin Martin, Brock Vlcek and Devin Whitt.

Manchester also had nine wrestlers finish second. Blake Belaire, Miquel Grammatico, Avery Osentoski, William Padley, Gus Rickelmann, Joshua Sannes, Hayden Scott, Christian Sukis and Travis Withrow all recorded second-place finishes.

John Beuerle, Colton Duvall, Nathan Fischer, Jordan Good, Christian Minard, Dalton Tungate and Ethan Woods each placed third for Manchester. Recording fourth-place finishes were James Clark, Derek Guenther, Jimmy Miller, Duncan VanVuuren and Josh Waara.

The Manchester Wrestling Club consists of 78 participants, ranging from 4 through 15 years old, and include members of the Manchester High School and middle school wrestling programs. Jason Woods, Mike Bunn, Jordan Wahl and Danny Fleck are the club's coaches.

Manchester will host a tournament Friday and Saturday at the high school. Wrestling begins Friday evening and continues throughout Saturday.
