The Manchester school board approved a recommended increase at its March 19 meeting. The increase will make Manchester's prices the same as the other seven schools in the Cascades Conference.
Admission to several high school events will cost $5, while tickets for other high school games and all middle school sports will remain at $3. Fall and winter events were $4 per ticket this season.
Events costing $5 are varsity and junior varsity football, varsity and JV boys' and girls' basketball, varsity wrestling duals and quads, varsity and JV volleyball, metrics and basketball and volleyball triples.
Costing $3, along with the middle school events, are boys' and girls' freshman basketball (single games), freshmen volleyball (single matches), varsity and JV baseball, varsity and JV softball, high school track and doubleheaders for baseball and softball.
Senior citizens age 62 and older and pre-kindergarten children will have free admission to all events.
Season ticket prices for students also have been raised to $40. This is a $5 increase from last year.
In addition, packages of 10 tickets have been raised from $30 to $40 for next year. For parents, individual adult season passes for the fall and winter will be $50.
High school and Cascades Conference passes for the 2007-08 season will be the only ones accepted. The passes will not be accepted at metrics or any tournament, district or regional sporting events.
The Cascades Conference initiated the raise of ticket prices at its member schools last year. Manchester avoided the increase during the 2006-07 school year, but is now the last school in the league to raise prices.
Members of the eight-school Cascades Conference include Manchester, Napoleon, Addison, Grass Lake, Michigan Center, Hanover-Horton, East Jackson and Vandercook Lake.
