Area children who are in preschool through fourth grade are welcome to hunt for colored eggs, which will be hidden throughout the park. The kids will be released into the park in intervals by grades, with the preschoolers going first, followed by kindergarten.
"The event goes pretty quick because the kids go crazy hunting for the eggs," Mens Club member Jack Summers said. "This gives the Men's Club another opportunity to reach out to the community."
Fellow Men's Club member Bob Rhees agrees that the hunt is one of the quickest events in the community.
"If you show up seven minutes late, you'll miss it," Rhees said. "Last year it went about six and a half minutes."
While the event itself is fast paced, the Men's Club will have several days of preparation. Members of the club along with other community residents began decorating the eggs Wednesday. According to Rhees, the club received seven cases of eggs, with 30 dozen in each.
"There will be approximately 2,500 eggs," Rhees said. "We'll also have prize eggs for the kids."
Members of the Men's Club will arrive at Carr Park early Saturday morning to hide the eggs. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance at the hunt.
The Men's Club reminds adults that they are to let the children hunt for the eggs.
"We've had parents picking up the eggs, and that's not how its supposed to be," Rhees said. "This is for children; please let them pick up the eggs."
The Easter Egg Hunt has been a Manchester tradition for over 40 years. The Manchester Jaycees organized the event until 1981 when the Men's Club took over.
