Couple says 'I do'

Gale Schmenk of Saline and Robert Dettling of Manchester exchanged marriage vows Jan. 31 in Cozumel, Mexico, at the Coral Princess resort.

The bride is the daughter of John Schmenk and the late Evelyn Schmenk of Milan. She is a 1982 graduate of Milan High School, a 1985 graduate of Washtenaw Community College and a 1992 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She is employed at NuStep Inc. in Ann Arbor.
The groom is the son of Victor Dettling of Adrian, formerly of Manchester, and the late Dolores Dettling. He is a 1985 graduate of Manchester High School and is employed at Hofmann's Furniture in Ann Arbor.
The couple's wedding ceremony took place during a sunset on the beach.
A reception is planned for May 12 at the historic Weller's Raisin River Room in Saline, where family and friends will celebrate their union.
