Balanced scoring and strong defense helped the Flying Dutchmen close out the season in style last Friday with a 58-32 victory over Ann Arbor Greenhills.
It was defense that sparked offense for Manchester (13-7, 8-6 Cascades). For the game, the Dutchmen forced Greenhills into 35 turnovers. An effective transition game helped Manchester cash in those turnovers for several fast break lay-ups.
"We played a very solid defensive game to conclude the season," Manchester coach Corey Fether said.
Three players scored in double figures for the Dutchmen. Trevor Hanewald led the way with 13 points. Sam Hatt added 12 points, while Logan Ross added 11 points and four steals.
Jeff Horodeczny finished with six points and Corwin Every recorded five steals for Manchester.
The junior varsity Dutchmen had 11 sophomores and three freshmen on their roster. Manchester's varsity team graduates seven seniors this year.
