MARILYN EILEEN CLARK

Marilyn Eileen Clark, 68, of Brooklyn died Jan. 30, 2007, after an extended illness. She was born March 3, 1938, in Manchester the daughter of Walter and Frieda (Wahr) Ahrens.
On Aug. 2, 1958, she married Allen Clark in Manchester, and he survives.
Mrs. Clark was a resident of Manchester for 58 years before moving to Houghton Lake for 10 years and finally residing in Brooklyn.
In addition to her loving husband of 48 years, she is survived by her children, Jeff (Jill) Clark of Clinton and Alisa (Louie) Ross of Manchester; four grandchildren, Abi, Reid, Nick and Logan; and siblings, Duane (Carol) Ahrens of Tecumseh, Darlene (Pete) Minor of Napoleon and Jerry (Betty) Ahrens of Manchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Cavender.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her grandkids dearly. She also loved to cook, bake, travel, play golf and she enjoyed the outdoors.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place 11 a.m. Friday at the Emanuel United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary Kwiatek will officiate.
A burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester.

LYLE L. MOORE

Lyle L. Moore, 88, of Manchester died Jan. 30, 2007, at his home in the comfort of his loving family. He was born July 13, 1918, in Detroit, the son of Leon F. and Fern (Fry) Moore.
On Nov. 23, 1936, Mr. Moore enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving two tours of duty, including in World War II. He was honorably discharged Sept. 29, 1945.
On June 14, 1946, he married Gertrude F. Walkowe and she preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2002.
Mr. Moore was a charter member of the Community Bible Church in Manchester, where he servedas a Sunday school teacher and a deacon for many years. He was a Golden Gloves boxer and an all-state swimmer at Cooley High School in Detroit.
Mr. Moore was a true civil servant. He was instrumental in forming the first union at Tecumseh Products, served as president of the Michigan Constable Association and chaplain of the National Constable Association, was a lifetime member of the Masons and volunteered for more than 23 years at Herrick Manor.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters, Gordon (Val) Moore, Wayne (Karen) Moore, Linda Moore, Sandra Moore, Steven (Pam) Moore, Dawn Moore and Scott (Melissa) Moore; 15 grandchildren, Adam, Maryann, Stephanie, Eric, Alyssa, Kimberly, Kristina, Tiffany, Colin, Jeremy, Travis, Courtney, Kyle, Clayton and Cody; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty (Frank) Walkowe.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parentsand one grandson, Daniel.
A funeral was held Saturday at Community Bible Church in Manchester. The Rev. Ron Clark officiated. Cremation followed.
