A slow start combined with defensive lapses hurt the Flying Dutchmen. East Jackson built a 19-point lead in the second half, but Manchester fought back to within four.
Despite forcing 32 East Jackson turnovers in the game, the Dutchmen were unable to complete the rally.
"Our bench really gave us a much-needed spark in the third quarter that gave us a chance to win the game," Manchester coach Corey Fether said.
Trevor Henewald scored 21 points to lead the Dutchmen, while Logan Ross added 10 points. Brian Fargher grabbed five rebounds and Josh Miller had four rebounds. Clayton Every had four steals for Manchester.
Dutch vs. Hanover-Horton
The Dutchmen started fast and held on for a 45-44 victory over Hanover-Horton.
Defense sparked Manchester's offense in the first half as the Dutchmen took a 24-15 lead into the break.
The Comets rallied in the second half, but came up short.
Logan Ross had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Manchester. Trevor Henewald added nine points and five rebounds, while Corwin and Clayton Every each added six points for the Dutchmen.
