Frosh boys beat East Jackson
Ryan Lenhart's three-pointer lifts the Flying Dutchmen past the East Jackson Trojans

A key three-pointer by Ryan Lenhart lifted the Manchester freshman boys' basketball team to a 45-41 victory over East Jackson on Friday.

With the game tied at 39, Lenhart's three gave the Flying Dutchmen the lead for good with 1:51 remaining. Strong defense, a pair of free throws and a key steal by D.J. Hone sealed the win.
"Four things we stress are defense, rebounding, taking care of the ball and free throws," Manchester coach Brad Gerbe said. "If you do those things, you'll be successful, and we were good in all four areas."
Logan Zigila scored 17 points to lead the Dutchmen, while Rob Carver added nine points. Lenhart and Brent Schriber each finished with seven points.
Gerbe credited Schriber and Hone for strong defensive play.
Manchester is now 10-2 on the season.
"I have a great group that wants to play hard and gives total effort," Gerbe said. "We still have to improve our defensive positioning, but I'm encouraged by how we're playing."
Dutch vs. Hanover-Horton:
A big second quarter by Logan Zigila sparked the Dutchmen to a 45-36 victory over Hanover-Horton in a Cascades Conference game.
Zigila finished with 26 points and four steal on the night, including 22 points in the second quarter. Zigila hit four triples and finished 9-for-12 from the floor in the quarter.
Ryan Lenhart had nine points and three steals for Manchester, while Rob Carver added six points. Brent Schriber recorded four steals for the Dutchmen.
Dutch vs. Jackson Christian:
Logan Zigila and Ryan Lenhart led Manchester to a 63-46 victory Jackson Christian in a non-league game.
Zigila finished with 18 points, while Lenhart added 17 to lead the Dutchmen.
Brandon Sklener scored eight points and Luke Weber tossed in seven points. Rob Carver grabbed six rebounds and Luke Weber had three steals for Manchester.
