The Flying Dutchmen (0-6) trailed 10-8 after one quarter.
At the half, Manchester was down 30-17.
"We had a slow start," said Manchester coach Bryan Barnard. "We didn't rebound very well in the first half. That hurt us. We dug ourselves a hole."
Entering the fourth quarter, the Jayhawks increased their advantage to 45-30.
In the fourth frame, however, the Dutch fought back, outscoring Vandercook Lake 22-11 for the night's final score.
"We shot better and rebounded better in the second half," Barnard said.
Senior guard Greg Schaible led Manchester with 20 points, including four three-pointers. Schaible, playing in only his second game of the season after suffering a broken leg during football, scored 16 points in the fourth quarter alone to lead the Flying Dutchmen rally.
Senior guard Nick Ball added nine points, while junior forward Jarod Sawyer had eight points and three steals and senior center Kevin Fielder five points.
Senior guard Zach Benedict finished with four points, while sophomore guard Randy Kleinschmidt had three points. Senior center Jake LaCross grabbed two points and a team-high 10 rebounds, and junior forward Sam Brown had one point for Manchester.
Sophomore guard Zack Ysassi ended up with a team-high five assists for the Dutch.
While its slow start hindered Manchester, the Flying Dutchmen also hurt themselves at the free-throw line, finishing 12-of-24 from the charity stripe.
"If we do a better job shooting free throws, we win," Barnard said. Hopefully, we can start putting everything together."
On Dec. 27, host Manchester lost to Adrian Madison 42-34.
The Dutch trailed 11-7 at the break.
In the second half, both teams heated up offensively.
Heading into the fourth quarter, Manchester was down 22-13.
In the fourth stanza, the Dutch outscored the Panthers 21-20 for the night's ending tally.
"We're doing a lot of things well, but we're not scoring," Barnard said. "You would think if you'd give up 11 points in the first half, you'd be doing well. We only had 15 turnovers for the game. We're getting lots of open looks, but we're not getting to the free-throw line enough. We need to start attacking the basket a little more."
Junior guard Justin Welton paced Manchester with nine points.
Kleinschmidt chipped in eight points, while LaCross had seven points and seven rebounds and Schaible four points.
Senior guard Andrew Tindall had three points, while Ball had two points and Ysassi one point.
Brown added seven rebounds and three steals.
"He played well defensively and gave us a lot of energy," Barnard said of Brown. "He played hard."
Manchester next hosts Napoleon 7 p.m. Friday.
On Tuesday, the Flying Dutchmen host Brooklyn Columbia Central at 7 p.m.
