Adrian man killed instantly in US-12 crash near Clinton

An Adrian man was killed Friday night on US-12 in Bridgewater Township when his pick-up truck collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department reported that Lee Garrett Bacon, 23, was killed instantly when his eastbound vehicle crossed the center line of US-12 near Lima Center Road and struck the side of a westbound semi and came to rest in the middle of the road.
According to a Sheriff's Department statement, Bacon's passenger, a 20-year-old Tipton man, was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was listed in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi, a 55-year-old Lincoln Park man, was not injured.
